2010 started strong. Starting in late September, the weather turned bad. Rain and wind topped the list almost every day or night. Set-up went well, but props that were in bad shape from ‘09 began to fail and need repairs. Sensor upgrades were behind, lighting additions fell behind, and new items were only on the horizon. Just 4-days before Halloween, we got 70mph sustained winds. We drove re-bar into the earth, and used 1000lb ratchet straps to hold on. Except for a few minor things, we faired pretty well. Others in the group however lost nearly everything.

We added a animated hanging skeleton, a few graveyard additions; windows got boarded up again, a fence rocking skeleton, a new fountain, and a few other things that escape me right now. Our grand opening was on October 16th. A bit later than usual, but we spent October 1st – 10th at Disney World in Florida with a fellow haunter.

Haunt 31 proudly gave treats to 1168 trick-or-treaters this Halloween.
